Slipknot have a big anniversary this year in the 25th anniversary of their seminal 1999 self-titled album. On top of that, there’s also Slipknot new drummer news. Now, in honor of that release, the band will hit the road on a summer 2024 North American tour with that new drummer in the fold.

Slipknot New Drummer Announced

For a while now, fans have been waiting on Slipknot new drummer news. It’s finally here, as the metal band has confirmed that former Sepultura drummer Eloy Casagrande will serve as their new drummer. He’ll replace Jay Weinberg, who parted ways with the band last year.

Casagrande, Corey Taylor and company will on Slipknot’s just-announced “Here Comes the Pain,” which will feature support form Knocked Loose on the entire run. Orbit Culture and Vended, the latter being the band featuring the sons of Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Clown, will also open on the tour, albeit on different dates.

The first leg of the “Here Comes the Pain” tour will begin Aug. 6 in Noblesville, Indiana, and continue through an Aug. 17 concert in Toronto. The second leg of the trek will being Sept. 7 in Auburn, Washington, and run through the Knotfest Iowa festival on Sept. 21 in Slipknot’s hometown of Des Moines, Iowa.

Knotfest.com artist pre-sale starts Tuesday (April 30), and a Live Nation pre-sale starts Wednesday (May 1st) at 10 a.m. local time using the code SOUNDCHECK. Then, a general on-sale begins Friday (May 3) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Aside from the Slipknot new drummer and tour news, the band is keeping busy this anniversary year, as the guys also have a range of U.S. festival appearances booked, including Welcome to Rockville, Sonic Temple, Rocklahoma, Aftershock and Louder Than Life. They recently rocked the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, and wore 1999-esqu red jumpsuits and trademark masks, in honor of that 25th anniversary tour.

“We loved what we did with the first record but we didn’t even know if there was gonna be anything after that,” guitarist Jim Root said in a press release. “We just wanted people to hear it. Selling out of records and shows, having successful tours – those are goals for any band. But the dream scenario in some ways, came true for us.”
