Tips from Experts to Get Cheap Concert Tickets, Even for Taylor Swift
Summer concert season is in full swing. If you’re looking at a ton of shows that you want to see but prices are too high, the good news is that there are some tips from experts to get cheap concert tickets. I get it. Things are expensive these days. Sometimes, getting tickets to a concert can really cost as much as a small vacation. Plus, if you have kids and want to take them to a kid-friendly show, that can be expensive, too. So, I hope these tips from experts help you enjoy summer concert season to the fullest.
Get Cheap Concert Tickets, Even for Taylor Swift: Tips from Experts
The experts at AAA.com actually has some great advice out about saving money on concert tickets. One of my favorite tips from them is to get on artists’ mailing lists. “An easy way to stay informed about upcoming artist tours and concert ticket sales is by signing up for newsletters from your favorite artists,” they state. Just sign up for those mailing lists on artists’ official websites. AAA also notes that, “If you don’t frequently check your personal email, you can also follow them on social media platforms to see their posts about ticket presales and general sales.”
The concert experts at Time.com also have some good advice for finding cheap concert tickets. They say to look for ticket resales closer to the show date. I’ve done this before and actually have scored really great tickets. I even had a friend who was photographing a Taylor Swift show but didn’t have a ticket, and the night of the sold-out show, he walked up to the box office and asked, jokingly, if they had an extra Swift ticket for sale. They had just opened up a few tickets in the front row. How wild is that? So, he bought a front row ticket at a low price for Taylor Swift just a few hours before the concert. Aside from Swift, who’s shows often sell out, if the concert isn’t a sell-out, chances are you’ll find some people trying to get rid of their tickets late on resale sites.
Also, Time.com notes that if you find a venue with a lawn, you have a much better chance of scoring discount tickets. Those lawn tickets can be a steal, so if you don’t mind roughing it and bringing a blanket, you might be able to see a very expensive artist on the lawn for a cheaper price.
SavetheStudent.org suggests using a pre-sale code for tickets. This works if you know for sure that you want to go to that show. If the second you hear about a show announce and know that you want to attend, buying tickets before they go on sale to the general public with a pre-sale code can be very beneficial. Ticketmaster does this, and so do some credit card companies.
If all else fails to find cheap concert tickets, try winning tickets. You can often find ticket giveaways from radio stations, venues and artists. Keep your eye out for some ticket giveaways, and hopefully it will be your lucky day. Just make sure it’s a legit ticket giveaway. Don’t give away personal or financial information when entering.
