When a band retires these days, one never really knows if that band is going to retire. In reality, so many bands go on farewell runs just to turn up again a few years later, doing more shows.

Of course, retiring from touring and retiring all together are two different things. Many bands retire from touring but make it clear that they might do a few more one-off shows together or release new music. Doing one random show or releasing a single is far different from being on the road several weeks in a row.

Beloved 1980s Rockers Reuniting

Now, the ’80s rockers of Kiss have announced that they’re back. Following the band’s final tour in 2023, the group, according to a new report, will perform a one-off show beginning with a November 2025 concert in Las Vegas.

The show will happen during a 50th anniversary celebration for the group’s fan club, the KISS Army, which is set for November 14 through 16 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. What makes the gig extra special is that it will be totally “unmasked,” so the members of Kiss won’t be wearing their legendary face makeup.

Have the show take place without makeup is certainly one way to help set it apart from a typical Kiss concert. So, even though Kiss are reuniting, they’re putting a new spin on the spectacle.

The report comes from Ultimate Classic Rock, which states that more details on the reunion show will be announced at a later date. According to the publication, the show will also feature “a special live performance from former Kiss member Bruce Kulick, along with other special guests, activities, exclusive experiences and more.” Kulick, the band’s former guitarist, is also scheduled to perform at the fan club convention, and more special guests are expected to be announced soon. Details will be posted via the band’s special event online page.

Back when the members of Kiss were playing their final show at Madison Square Garden in December of 2023, vocalist and bass player Gene Simmons told Rolling Stone that the farewell tour final gig would also mark “the final Kiss-in-makeup appearance,” indicating that more shows were on the way, just without the makeup. So, they’re sticking to that playbook.

Gene Simmons Postpones Shows

In other Kiss news, Simmons recently postponed 17 concerts on his upcoming spring U.S. tour with his solo band. His camp didn’t explain why the shows were getting postponed, but thankfully, they did say that there was “nothing wrong health-wise” with Simmons. In addition, according to NME, Simmons’ camp said the shows would be rescheduled in 2026 and that refunds are being offered.

The tour was billed as “The Ultimate Gene Simmons Experience,” letting attendees work as a roadie for a day and assist in setting up the concert for a steep price of $12,495. Simmons, on this tour, was also going to meet with the VIP purchasers for a meal and introduce them during the show.

According to a statement from Christina Vitaglano, who operates Simmons’ backstage VIP fan experience packages, the April shows and Texas leg of their May dates are postponed “until early 2026.”
