Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters have certainly stayed out of the public eye as of late. A lot of their absence likely has to do with Grohl going public last year and admitting that he cheated on his wife and now has a new baby with another woman.

In a post on social media in September 2024, Grohl stated that he was welcoming a child “outside” of his marriage and is working to “regain” the trust of his wife, Jordyn Blum, and his children with Blum.

“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage,” Grohl wrote in a statement. He added, “I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.” He continued, “We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.”

So, Foo Fighters have been quiet, but that’s about to change, which is a good thing for Foo followers.

Foo Fighters Announce First Show of the Year

Grohl and Foo Fighters have confirmed that they will perform at the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday, October 4. It’s so wild to see their first announced performance in more than a year in Singapore, right?

If the band doesn’t perform before then, it will mark their first time performing as a collective group since August of 2024. It’s worth noting that Grohl has made a collection of one-off performances this year, including an appearance with the surviving members of Nirvana at SNL50. He also appeared with the LA Philharmonic at Coachella and performed at a charity show in Los Angeles in April. The band’s last real show together was August 18, 2024 at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.

They reportedly played a private event at Anaheim’s House of Blues on Sept. 6. Shortly thereafter, Grohl revealed that he had fathered a child out of wedlock.

Dave Grohl’s Recent Appearances

Among the aforementioned recent appearances by Grohl, he performed with the surviving members of Nirvana for a surprise performance at FireAid, to raise funds for victims of the Los Angeles-area wildfires. The legendary group performed four songs at the show, joined by St. Vincent, Joan Jett, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and Grohl’s daughter Violet, all of whom filled in on vocals. Nirvana’s original vocalist, Kurt Cobain, of course, passed way in 1994.

Then, in February, Nirvana reunited with Post Malone singing for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary show. Finally, in April, Grohl joined forces with the LA Philharmonic to perform two Foo Fighters songs.

So, what’s the status of new Foo Fighters music? It’s a possibility that the band is working on it now. If they have been away from the road, it’s certainly plausible that they would have time to get into the studio.

Foo Fighters released their last studio album, “But Here We Are,” in 2023. The album was largely written around the themes of Grohl dealing with the loss of both his mother and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
