Those who rock together stay together, and in that spirit, one of rock’s up-and-coming guitarists is officially off the market. What’s even better is that this guitarist married another musician, so the two can rock together for the rest of their lives.

Sophie Lloyd, a British rock guitarist who rose to fame posting videos online and has since toured with MGK, got married last weekend in a beautiful ceremony, and she took to Instagram to share the lovely moment.

Guitarist Sophie Lloyd Feels ‘At Home’ With Husband

On Tuesday, June 3, Lloyd posted on Instagram a collection of photos of the two with the caption, “Married my best friend, the love of my life, and the one who makes my heart feel at home,” with a ring emoji. The photos show Lloyd in a princess-like white wedding dress marrying her groom in an indoor ceremony.

Her husband even responded, commenting, “You have made me the happiest man alive. MY WIFE Mrs. Painter.”

While Lloyd is known for backing other musicians, she released a solo album in 2023 called “Imposter Syndrome.” She collaborated with a slew of musicians on the release, including Lzzy Hale of Halesotrm.

Regarding the Hale collaboration, Lloyd said on Instagram, “Halestorm have been such an inspiration to me and one of my favorited (sic) bands growing up, I’m so honored (sic) to have Lzzy on our album.” Around the time of the album’s release, she also posted about the honor of being on the cover of Guitar World Magazine with her new signature SL6X Kiesel Guitar.

In a March feature, Audio Ink Radio named Lloyd one of the best female guitarists of all time. “Hailing from Britain, Sophie Lloyd gained steam on YouTube with her jaw-dropping guitar videos,” author Cat Badra stated. “She even caught the attention of pop star Machine Gun Kelly, who tapped her to tour with him. Lloyd has also released her own solo music, and she’s one of the most promising young guitarists out there right now.”

Sophie Lloyd Didn’t Expect to Be Famous

In an interview with Guitar Thrills magazine in July of 2024, Lloyd talked about her early inspirations.

“I started playing guitar when I was around 10 years old after listening to Led Zeppelin in the car with my dad,” she said. “Because I was a bit of an outcast, I had a lot of time to practice and this gave me an escape from reality, helped me overcome my anxieties and really gave me a sense of fulfillment.”

Lloyd also said that she was never after fame, but it came with becoming a successful guitarist. “When I first entered my career as a guitarist. I did see myself as being a bedroom guitarist,” she said, adding that she “grew up in a small town.”

Later in the interview, she added, “Fame and fortune weren’t part of my expectations. At least until I got on You Tube. I used it as a platform to produce content. I thought that I would be pleased to get 30 views. It turned out to be more than anticipated. Which is when I started thinking this could be a viable career for me.”
