The Black Keys will tour the U.S. starting in March

Just days before the Black Keys release their buzzed-about new full-length, El Camino (out on Dec. 6 via Nonesuch Records), the duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney have announced the debut leg of their 2012 North American tour. The jaunt sets off March 2 in Cincinnati and runs through March 23 in Norfolk, Va. In-between, the band hit up such major meccas as Detroit, Philadelphia and New York City. Find the complete list of tour dates, below.

Fans signed up to the Black Keys’ official mailing list will get the first chance to grab tickets starting on Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. local time, before public on-sale begins. As for general public tickets, those will go on sale starting Dec. 9. For more details on all tickets sales, visit the Black Keys’ official website.

In other band news, the boys will perform two tracks from El Camino this Saturday (Dec. 3) on Saturday Night Live, alongside host Steve Buscemi. More excitement leading up to the album’s release includes the Black Keys offering up an early whiff of five songs off, El Camino: the album’s dizzying first single, “Lonely Boy,” as well as “Gold on the Ceiling,” “Little Black Submarines,” “Sister” and “Run Right Back.” Songs recall the definitive Black Keys presentation of murky fuzz blues, with a definite groove and raw, alternative rock beat. Could Keys fans ask for anything more? Not a chance. (Courtesy photo by Danny Clinch, via Nonesuch Records.)
