Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce Additional 2012 Tour Dates
Red Hot Chili Peppers add ten dates to 2012 roster
Last week, the Red Hot Chili Peppers announced six tour dates, with the promise of more on the way. Now, the legendary funk-rockers are making good on that promise, as they’ve announced ten additional dates that land in January, February and March of 2012. Most shows reach arena-sized venues, so this is on target to be a blockbuster Peppers tour! Find a complete list of tour dates, below.
Anthony Kiedis, Flea, Chad Smith and new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer have spent the past few months in Europe touring to support the band’s recently released full-length, I’m With You. Thus far, the set list has packed Peppers staples, as well as tracks off I’m With You; notably, the band’s lovable, No. 1 alternative rock single, “The Adventures of Raindance Maggie.”
The touring scene is a tad different than it was back when the Peppers were ‘90s alternative rock daredevils. Kiedis recently told the Mirror that getting clean and sober, plus being a dad, has kept him grounded. “It’s been a good few years,” Kiedis said. “The greatest thing for me was becoming a dad and the really good fortune of not having to work or go on the road for the first two years of my son’s life. I recently moved to the seashore and having this little person in my arms walking through the sand dunes looking at the ocean was just what the doctor ordered. It was a reawakening for me in terms of being an elated human being.”
Kiedis added that his son has tagged along on tour with him! He hopes that tradition continues. “Everly is with me in London,” he said. “It’s an experimental run. I would love to have him on tour with me for the next couple of years.” (Courtesy photo by Ellen von Unwerth via the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ official website.)
