Robyn, Wolf Gang and Metronomy are among the artists touring with Coldplay this spring

Alternative rock royalty Coldplay have enlisted a few under-the-radar, indie-flavored bands to open their upcoming North American tour. Would you expect anything less from Chris Martin and the guys, who obviously have strong indie roots?

Coldplay have tapped Robyn, Wolf Gang, Marina and the Diamonds and Metronomy to share opening duties for the upcoming tour, with each performer playing with Coldplay on select dates. Check out Coldplay’s most recent tour schedule below. It’s a doozie, packing three dozen shows.

Before kicking off their tour on April 17 in Edmonton, AB, Coldplay will play at Amnesty International’s Policeman’s Ball. Scheduled for March 4 at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, the charity night will also include appearances by Stephen Colbert, Russell Brand, Seth Meyers, Sarah Silverman, Jon Stewart, Jason Sudeikis, Reggie Watts, Kristen Wiig and other big names.

Coldplay have also lined up two television appearances next week, including Good Morning America and Jimmy Kimmel’s Oscar special.

As for Kimmel, Coldplay will rock the seventh annual “Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Academy Awards” special, which will be televised live on ABC from Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre on Sunday (Feb. 26), right after the live Oscar telecast and local stations’ late news. Other Kimmel guests will include Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, Billy Crystal, Charlize Theron, Don Cheadle and more.

Coldplay will also play a three-song set — which will include their current single, “Charlie Brown — on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Friday, March 2, playing in the show’s popular Times Square studio.
