Deftones Singer Chino Moreno Gets Married
Deftones main man Chino Moreno weds girlfriend Rise Mora
Congratulations are in order for Deftones lead man Chino Moreno, who wed his girlfriend of over two years, Risa Mora, last Wednesday (March 7) in Hawaii, according to Blabbermouth. Moreno, 38, has two sons, Kristian and Jakobi, from his previous marriage with Celeste Schroeder.
Deftones have been a hot topic as of late, thanks to the good news that bass player Chi Cheng, who has been in a coma since a 2008 car accident, is starting to emerge from his coma to a partly conscious state. In February, Cheng reportedly started to be able to move his leg when asked and also make some grunting noises. This was significant improvement from Cheng’s previous state, although the road to recovery will likely still be long. His band mates, friends and family have lent their time and musical talents to help the musician, setting up several benefit concerts and releasing a single to help raise money to help finance Cheng’s recovery.
Deftones are currently working on their seventh studio album, which is set to arrive before the end of 2012. The the Sacramento, Calif., band’s previous album, “Diamond Eyes,” scored the gentlemen an active rock radio hit in, “You’ve Seen the Butcher,” and a sold-out, cross-country tour. For the upcoming album, Sergio Vega will handle bass playing duties. Vega has played with Deftones for several years, as he filled in for Cheng during the group’s 2008 tour following Cheng’s accident, and he has played bass with the guys ever since.
