“All I Was” is scheduled to arrive by the late spring or early summer. The set marks new territory for Tremonti, as the usually quite guitarist is taking on lead singer duties. Tremonti exclusively spoke with Audio Ink Radio about taking on the role of frontman.

“It’s fun! I’ve been songwriter since I was a kid, and it’s fun to sing it exactly how it sounds in your head,” Tremonti exclusively told Audio Ink Radio. “When I was younger, I was a bad singer, so after being a songwriter over all these years, I think I’ve just improved and finally got to the point where I’m comfortable with singing them on my own.”

The solo album also features Tremonti’s longtime friends and musical colleagues Eric Friedman on backing vocals, bass and guitar and Garret Whitlock on drums. A few song titles that Tremonti has leaked include “Wish You Well,” “So You’re Afraid,” “You Waste Your Time,” “All That I Got” and “Giving Up.” The album is also coming out via Fret12.com, which is a company Tremonti started with his bother to release instructional guitar DVDs and is now branching into a record label.

Tremonti says pursuing music isn’t an easy road, but it’s the only one for him. “It’s definitely something that doesn’t happen overnight,” he said. “I’ve been chasing it for years and years, and I still have a long way to go. So, it can be frustrating but rewarding at the same time.”
