Former Guns N’ Roses drum guy Steven Adler wants Axl Rose at tonight’s ceremony

Tonight (April 14) is the big night Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys and more get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Those hoping to see Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose at the ceremony are out of luck, as the singer declared Wednesday that he will not be at the Rock Hall induction ceremony, putting a nix to the chance of any kind of reunion of the group’s classic lineup at the event. Speaking with Legendary Rock Interviews, former Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler explained that he wishes Rose had come to a different decision, for the sake of the fans.

“I just wanted the same thing all of the fans want, which is to show up and play together,” he said. “It’s not that hard — just show up, put the fans first and be a rock and roll band, if only for their sake. They love the five of us and they’d still love us and I don’t understand why [Rose] can’t see that. There is not one rock and roll band that the fans have wanted to see a reunion of more than Guns N’ Roses.”

Regardless of who does or doesn’t show up tonight, Adler says it’s a dream come true to have Guns N’ Roses recognized by the Rock Hall with the induction. “ …It’s like everything that we dreamed about and believed in and it’s something I am proud to notch off on my belt…, “ he said. “We accomplished so many of our dreams and to be able to all be out there still working and creating and more than anything, anything to still have our connections with the fans.  We are blessed.” Read the rest of the GN’R chat via Legendary Rock Interviews.
