Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs Set for Big Day Out
Big Day Out’s 2012 lineup includes Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Killers and more
The headliners for the 2012 annual Big Day Out festival have been announced, and they’re some big games. Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the annual Australian music festival, the band has announced, and it’s something of familiar ground for the Peppers, as they played the festival back in 2000.
“We’re playing Big Day Out!” frontman Anthony Kiedis said in an official video statement. “Sometime before we die, we’re going to come and playing the Big Day Out Festival in Australia…,” with that “sometime” meaning this coming January.
Other headliners booked for this year include the Killers and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. As for the rest of the lineup, it packs a bunch of alternative rock names: Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses, Alabama Shakes, Sleigh Bells, OFF!, Against Me!, Every Time I Die, Childish Gambino, Logo, Death Grips, Adventure Club, Pretty Lights, House Vs Hurricane and more.
The Bloody Beetroots are on the Big Day Out lineup this year, and the duo recently told Beat.com that they can’t wait. “I have been in Australia a lot in the last five years. I love the Australian summer,” Rifo stated. “I’m looking forward to coming back and presenting the new live show.”
The Big Day Out festival will take place in major cities across Australia Jan. 18 through 28. Find ticket information at the festival’s official website, and view the complete lineup here.
