Jack White’s Third Man Records label will release the soundtrack to ‘The Great Gatsby’ on vinyl
It’s no secret that Jack White is all about vinyl. After all, the singer and guitarist was the poster boy for vinyl last weekend, serving as Record Store Day’s official ambassador. Now, Jack White is giving record fans a chance to snag the upcoming “The Great Gatsby” on classic vinyl.
The former White Stripes frontman has announced that his record label, Third Man Records, will be offering a special vinyl version of the deluxe edition of the “Gatsby” soundtrack. The upcoming album will offer 17 tracks, including White’s buzzed-about cover of the U2 tune “Love Is Blindness,” Gotye’s “Hearts a Mess” off 2006’s “Like Drawing Blood” and exclusive new songs from the xx, Florence + the Machine, Lana Del Rey and beyond.
The regular soundtrack for “The Great Gatsby” will arrive at online outlets and in stores on May 7, while White has yet to announce an official release date for the vinyl. For more information, head the Third Man Records website.
“The Great Gatsby” movie, a feature film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s famous novel, will hit movie theaters across the U.S. on May 10.
