Nine Inch Nails Frontman Trent Reznor Announces New Album
A new Nine Inch Nails album is coming soon
Trent Reznor hasn’t been exactly forthcoming when it comes to what music he’s been working on as of late. On Tuesday (May 28), the frontman for Nine Inch Nails reveled that for the past year or so, he’s been hard at work on a new Nine Inch Nails album, and he’s kept it all under wraps. Moreover, Nine Inch Nails is now official part of the Columbia Records roster.
“I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately,” Reznor said in an official statement. “For the last year, I’ve been secretly working non-stop with [How to Destroy Angels band mate] Atticus Ross and [British record producer] Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record.” Reznor added that he’s happy to say the album is finished and that it’s great.
No release date has been announced for the new album yet, but Reznor says it will be out sometime this year.
The album announcement comes at a good time, as Nine Inch Nails is set for a major tour this summer. The band’s new lineup features Reznor alongside Robin Finck, former King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini and Telefon Tel Aviv’s Josh Eustis and Ilan Rubin. Nine Inch Nails’ first summer tour date will be at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival on July 26. They reach North America on August 2 for a stint at Lollapalooza in Chicago.
