Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player Flea voices a role in a new episode of Disney TV’s ‘Sheriff Callie’s Wild West’

Flea is known for his slap-happy bass playing in bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Atoms for Peace, but he’s venturing into some unfamiliar territory: animation. According to Rolling Stone, the musician’s latest endeavor involves an episode of a Disney Junior channel show named “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West,” which has Flea voicing a cartoon cat called the Milk Bandit.

Flea isn’t playing the good guy on the show. As Rolling Stone states, the Milk Bandit is a criminal who steals milk from the good guys in the program. “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West” is a cartoon for preschool-aged children, so hopefully the kids will learn some lessons about right and wrong via Flea’s performance.

This isn’t Flea’s first acting role. The bass player also appeared in two of the “Back to the Future” films and the Coen Brothers movie “The Big Lebowski.” This year, he’s scheduled to act in the film “Low Down,” which will also star Peter Dinklage, Elle Fanning and Glenn Close.

Flea’s episode of “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West” is called “The Pie Thief” and will air tonight (March 7) at 9 a.m. EST on Disney Junior.
