Former Smiths singer Morrissey how bowed out of his latest U.S. tour

Morrissey has canceled his entire upcoming U.S. tour. This isn’t entirely surprising, as the former Smiths frontman was already postponing a handful of shows just this week due to illness.

Morrissey’s camp made the official announcement today (June 10) via the singer’s official Facebook page. “It is with great sadness that the remainder of the U.S. tour has been canceled,” the statement reads. “The respiratory infection Morrissey contracted in Miami has worsened, and in the interest of making a full recovery, all further touring plans have been halted. Morrissey thanks his fans for their compassion, understanding, and well-wishes during this difficult period as he recuperates.” We wish him a speedy recovery.

Morrissey had been touring North American in support of his upcoming record, “World Peace is None of Your Business.” Even without Morrissey on the road to play the new tunes, the album will drop July 15 via Harvest.
