The Flaming Lips, Miley Cyrus and Moby Cover the Beatles
The Flaming Lips’ cover of ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ features Miley Cyrus and Moby
After months of talk about the Flaming Lips, Miley Cyrus and Moby recording a Beatles cover, the audio is finally here. The Flaming Lips’ cover of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” featuring Miley Cyrus and Moby is streaming as a sample track on the band’s Pledge Music site, and the tune sounds similar to the live version the group performed with Miley earlier this year on the Billboard Music Awards.
“Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” will appear on the Flaming Lips’ tribute to the Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” called “With a Little Help from My Fwends,” which will arrive on Oct. 28. The album will feature collaborations between the Flaming Lips and a long list of famed bands and artists, including My Morning Jacket, Grace Potter, Phantogram, MGMT, J Mascis, Maynard James Keenan, Puscifer, New Fumes and more.
The album is currently available via Pledge Music. Bonus goodies for those who pledge at certain levels include signed CDs and vinyl albums, signed Oliver Hibert silk screen posters and new T-shirts.
