A handful of Green Day’s upcoming tour dates have been put on hold

If you were planning to hit one of Green Day’s early tour dates, take note that the band’s upcoming tour has been pushed back for a handful of days. The reason for the delayed shows is because of an “illness affecting several members of the band and its crew,” according to a statement from the group.

The initial three dates of Green Day’s fall 2016 North American tour to promote the band’s upcoming album “Revolution Radio” have been postponed. Those dates are Sept. 20 in St. Louis, Sept. 21 in Chicago and Sept. 24 in Detroit. On top of the postponed dates, the Toronto, Ontario, gig set for Sept. 23 has been canceled. Each of the tour dates except Toronto will be rescheduled, and tickets for the original dates will be honored for the new concerts.

“We’re so sad to announce we have to postpone three shows and cancel Toronto,” the band said in a statement regarding the delayed and canceled concerts. “Many of us have been battling this infection for days on end to be ready, and it just got the best of us.”

Green Day’s camp is expected to announce the rescheduled tour dates soon. Those who purchased tickets are also able to get refunds at the original point of purchase, if they wish. Green Day’s new album, “Revolution Radio,” is scheduled to hit all the usual outlets on Oct. 7.
