Hellyeah Announces New Album and Summer Tour
Hellyeah has announced the details of their final record featuring the drumming of the late Vinnie Paul
Hellyeah is gearing up to release their new album, which will be the band’s final to feature the final recordings of late drummer Vinnie Paul. The album, titled “Welcome Home,” will arrive on Sept. 27 via Eleven Seven Music. The music video for the title track will premiere this Friday (May 17).
Last weekend, Hellyeah performed their first concert since Paul passed away last June. He was 54. Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga performed in place of Paul during the show — which was in Las Vegas, Nevada — and Mayorga has been tapped to be Hellyeah’s drummer going forward.
Clark County, Nevada, also recently proclaimed May 11, 2019, as “Vinnie Paul Day.”
“While Vinnie Paul is obviously irreplaceable, one thing we can’t not do is tour,” bass player Kyle Sanders said in a statement. “As easy as it would be to say we’re not going on the road, we have to.”
“Vinnie would be extremely disappointed in us if we didn’t promote this record properly,” Sanders added. “He’d be p**sed off at all of us for putting all this work into finishing the record and then just letting it sit there on the shelf while we put a couple of songs to radio and whatever…and we know that.”
In other news, Hellyeah has also announced a summer tour in support of “Welcome Home.” The tour will feature Mayorga on drums. Find the full roster of tour dates below.
