Watch Metallica’s final “Big 4” concert, which took place at New York City’s Yankee Stadium back in 2011

If you’re a fan of thrash, then the latest #MetallicaMondays live stream was your kind of show. The legendary heavy metal band debuted a full stream of their performance at the 2011 “Big 4” concert, which took place at New York City’s Yankee Stadium.

The concert famously featured the “Big 4” of thrash metal: Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. The “Big 4” shows were a major part of Metallica’s touring life around that time, as the four bands played a collection of concerts together between 2010 and 2011 in Europe, as well as in Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, and, yes, in New York City.

The Yankee Stadium show was the final “Big 4” performance to date. It took place on Sept. 14, 2011.

In other news, Metallica recently announced they are filming a special, new performance that will be played in drive-in theaters across North America, beginning Aug. 29. Those who purchase tickets to the drive-in experience will also get full digital downloads of Metallica’s upcoming “S&M2” album.

Metallica will also release their “S&M2” box set on Aug. 28, chronicling the band’s two-night stint with the San Francisco Symphony in 2019.
