Corey Taylor is Already Working on ‘CMFT2’

Corey Taylor says he’s already “hammering things out and getting ready” for the sophomore follow-up to his new solo album, “CMFT”
Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor spent much of this year releasing and promoting his new solo alum, “CMFT,” and he isn’t finished with solo music yet. In a new interview with Kerrang!, Taylor revealed some vague details about a new project in the works, stating, “I’m…doing a really cool secret project that I can’t talk about yet that we were asked to do, which is gonna be rad.”
Taylor also dropped the news that he’s already working on the follow-up to his debut solo album “CMFT,” which dropped last fall. “We’re still hammering things out and getting ready for CMFT2,” he told the publication. “The songs that I’ve got together for this are really, really good — people are gonna s*** when they hear it!”
Taylor also discussed the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. If anyone was wondering, Taylor says he’s 100% committed to getting the COVID-19 vaccine, insisting, “I’m no anti-vaxxer, trust me!” He added that, “As soon as it’s ready I’m taking one, and I don’t care what anybody says. I don’t wear tin foil hats, and I certainly didn’t vote for [Donald] Trump. So I’m going to get a vaccine for this damn thing.”
When asked for the biggest lessons Taylor has learned this year, he said simply that “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.”
“This year has really re-inspired me to dedicate myself to what I love,” he said. “You never realize how much you need to play live until you can’t do it anymore. You don’t realize how much love, excitement and satisfaction you get out of making music until you’re in a situation where you can’t really make music and play it for other people anymore.”
He added that the whole COVID-19 situation “has re-inspired me to get back to basics, as it were, as far as making and performing music – and never taking it for granted.”
