P.O.D. will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their chart-topping “Satellite” album in September

P.O.D. are coming up on the 20th anniversary of their “Satellite” album on Sept. 11 of this year. In honor, the Christian reggae-rockers will celebrate their history of “Satellite” and another seminal record during an upcoming three-part concert streaming series called “Satellite Over Southtown,” airing from Petco Park in the band’s hometown of San Diego.

The first two shows will air May 13 and May 27 and feature front-to-back performances of the band’s 2001 and 1999 albums “Satellite” and “The Fundamental Elements of Southtown,” respectively. P.O.D. fans will recall that “Satellite,” which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, went triple-platinum and featured the chart-topping “Alive” and “Youth of the Nation.”

The third streaming performance will debut June 10 and feature a bevy of greatest hits, as well as performances of B-sides and rarities.

“As we navigate through the new norm of live performances, it’s a great feeling knowing we can still somehow connect with our fans and friends who have supported us all of these years,” frontman Sonny Sandoval said in a statement. “The idea of fans around the world, online together watching us is pretty amazing!”

Before the series takes off, P.O.D. – which features band members Sonny Sandoval, Traa Daniels, Marcos Curiel and Wuv Bernardo – will host a special virtual Q&A session with fans, in which they’ll talk about the upcoming performances, the legacy of “Sattelite” and “The Fundamental Elements of Southtown” and more. The virtual Q&A will happen today (April 13).

The “Satellite Over Southtown” series will stream on the streaming service Mandolin. For more information and to find tickets, head to BoxOffice.Mandolin.com.
