Nita Strauss Announces Winter Solo Tour Dates
Following her fall tour with Alice Cooper, guitarist Nita Strauss will hit the road on a solo run
Nita Strauss is making up for lost time when it comes to touring, as the celebrated guitarist has just added a solo U.S. tour to her already busy winter plans. Strauss plays lead guitar in Alice Cooper’s band, so the new dates come in addition to her touring with the Coop this fall.
Strauss will close out her tour with Cooper towards the end of October. From there, she’ll have a few weeks off before hitting the road again for a 28-date tour. Her solo run, dubbed the “Winter Wasteland” tour, will begin Nov. 10 in New Orleans, Louisiana, and run through a Dec. 18 show in Angola, Indiana. View the full list of tour dates below. Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday (Oct. 8).
Strauss released her debut album, “Controlled Chaos,” in 2018, which offered a true guitar album with 11 instrumental songs. On the upcoming tour, Strauss says to expect to hear music off her solo album, as well as new material.
Strauss caught up with Audio Ink Radio when “Controlled Chaos” was hitting stories. “I would say my favorite thing about it was actually getting to write my own music,” she said. “It’s something that’s often overlooked in the world of heavy guitar playing and music. Most people end up playing other people’s songs, whether they’re playing in cover bands or in a hired gun position like me in Alice Cooper, so for me to go out there and play songs that actually mean something to me personally was an incredible experience.”
