Slash and Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators Go Melodic on New Song, ‘Fill My World’
Slash shows off his melodic side on “Fill My World,” the latest song off his upcoming album with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators
Slash and his band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, are coming up on the release of a new album, “4,” out in February. Ahead of the release, the group has released a new song, “Fill My World,” which marks their second single off the record.
“Fill My World” follows the album’s debut single, “The River is Rising,” and has a much different vibe. Instead of the heavy, beating riffs and rhythms of the latter, “Fill My World” features Kennedy’s soaring, melodic vocals over a more stripped-down instrumental approach, with strong hooks and warm guitar lines. “Fill My World” is also an emotional song, with Kennedy singing about a lost love one. “As the thunder keeps on rolling through my heart / But still someway, I keep holding on / Turn the key, please come back to me / For how long will you be gone, I’m barely breathing,” Kennedy sings throughout the track.
“4” is marks Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators’ fourth studio record and will drop on Feb. 11 via Gibson Records. For information on pre-ordering the new album from Slash and Myles Kennedy, head here.
Regarding the sound and style of the new Slash album, Kennedy told Audio Ink Radio in a recent interview, “The thing about the record is that it’s got a live vibe to it. It was a record that was recorded in kind of an old-school way. So, with that said, without giving too much away, it definitely has a bit of that energy and that vibe that a lot of us listened to growing up. So, it was fun. It was a fun record to make.”
Slash and Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators are also embarking on a North American tour next year. The trek will set off Feb. 8 in Portland, Oregon, and run through a March 26 date in Orlando, Florida. To view the full roster of Slash and Myles Kennedy tour dates, go here.
