RED and Former Korn Guitarist Finalize Fall Tour

Ex-Korn guitarist and Nashville hard rock band team up for Christian tour

Former Korn six-stringer Brian “Head” Welch is gearing up to release his new single, “Paralyzed,” on Headdog Music this Tuesday (Oct. 4). The track, which presents the best of Head’s pummeling, eerie metal, may be streamed, below.

Welch is currently working on tracks for a new album, which is being produced by Jasen Rauch of Nashville-based hard rock band RED. The yet-untitled release — fingers-crossed — will drop in spring of 2012. Welche’s solo debut album, Save Me From Myself, dropped in September 2008 and pushed 7,800 copies in the United States in its first week, entering the Billboard 200 at No. 63.

On the topic of RED, as previously reported, Welch is set to tour with the Southern rockers on RED’s “Kill the Machine” tour. The tour, which kicks off in Abilene, Texas Oct. 7 and tramples through 14 cities before closing out in Atlanta Oct. 26, also includes fellow Christian rock bands Icon for Hire and Echoes the Fall. RED — made up of singer Michael Barnes, guitarist Anthony Armstrong, bass player Randy Armstrong and drummer Joe Rickard — has charted an impressive 1,300-plus live shows since releasing their debut LP, End Of Silence, in 2006. RED have also sold over 780,000 albums counting their three projects, and the first two have both received Grammy nominations. Most recently, RED played the Rock Allegiance Tour alongside Papa Roach, Buckcherry, P.O.D. and more.
