Foo Fighters Cancel All Tour Dates Following Taylor Hawkins’ Death

Foo Fighters are pulling the plug on their upcoming tour dates following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins
Following the sudden passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins, Foo Fighters have announced that all of their upcoming tour dates have been canceled. The news comes after the band already canceled their headlining Lollapalooza Brasil performance that was set to take place last Sunday (March 27) in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
“It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins,” the band said in a collective statement. “We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned. Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.”
Foo Fighters announced the news of Hawkins’ death late Friday (March 25) via a social media post. He was 50. While no official cause of death has been reported, the urine toxicology test indicated the presence of “THX (Marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids, among others,” according to a statement from the Columbian office. The band was touring in Bogota, Columbia, when Hawkins passed away, as they were set to perform at the Festival Estero Picnic.
Among the Foo Fighters’ upcoming tour dates were headlining stints at Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans, Louisiana. The band had tour dates lined up through the end of December, both in the U.S. and overseas.
