Spiritbox show off an industrial metal flavor with the title track off their new three-song set, “Rotoscope”

Courtney LaPlante-fronted metal band Spiritbox have released a new three-song set called “Rotoscope,” plus unleashed the the music video for the title track. Listen to the full collection below.

The title track offers a heavy, industrial metal sound, which is a bit different for Spiritbox. The catchy beats and syncopated riffs bring a dance-like quality to the music, with LaPlante singing pop vocals. The rest of the release features the songs “Sew Me Up” and “Hysteria,” both more melodic in nature and representative of Spiritbox’s previously released material.

Spiritbox got together in 2017 and released a handful of singles that caught the attention of Rise Record. They signed and have been one of the most buzzed-about up-and-coming metal bands on the scene ever since. The band recently played the U.K.’s legendary Download Festival, as well as two sold-out shows at London’s Islington Academy. For the second gig, the band was joined by current “America’s Got Talent” viral sensation, 10-year-old Harper, who performed the group’s break out hit, “Holy Roller,” as her audition for the TV show and live with the band in London.

Spiritbox will open on Ghost and Mastodon’s upcoming North American tour, which begins in late August. Currently, the band is in Europe playing major festivals and handful of one-off headline shows until June 30. From there, they’ll performed at a number of U.S. festivals, including Rock Fest and Inkcarceration, and a sold-out headline show in Grand Rapids. Watch the music video for “Rotoscope” and listen to “Sew Me Up” and “Hysteria” below.
