Metallica Announce 2017 Tour Dates
Metallica have unleashed a lengthy 2017 tour roster in support of ‘Hardwired…to Self-Destruct’
Hot off an appearance at last night’s Grammy Awards (Feb. 12), the metal men of Metallica have unleashed a full round of 2017 North American tour dates. News of an upcoming tour announcement leaked on Friday (Feb. 10), but now, it’s official. I’m super pumped. Aren’t you?
Metallica’s 2017 North American trek will kick off May 10 in Baltimore, Maryland, and continue through an Aug. 16 show in Edmonton, AB. Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira will provide support on various dates of the tour.
Metallica are touring behind their latest studio album, 2016’s “Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.” The album sees the guys returning to their thrash roots with a heavy, riff-heavy collection of tunes.
As for last night’s Grammy performance, there was lots of buzz and excitement around the idea of Metallica performing with Lady Gaga at the Grammy Awards, but once the duo took the stage, a few technical difficulties got in the way. Mainly, frontman James Hetfield’s mic wasn’t working through about half of the performance. Angry metal fans took to Twitter to blow off steam about the performance. Let’s hope the Metallica tour will go glitch-free.
