Daughtry Announce First Leg of North American 2012 Tour [Dates]

Daughtry’s latest run will benefit Malaria No More

Mainstream rocker Chris Daughtry and his band have announced the first leg of their North American “Break the Spell Tour.” The trek — which is in support of the band’s third studio album, “Break the Spell” — will hit theaters starting in March. Tickets go on sale staring Jan. 20.

As for the openers, Daughtry have booked Nashville-based alternative pop-rock group SafetySuit for the run, plus singer-songwriter Mike Sanchez. The band are also using this tour to help a charity near and dear to their hearts, as $1 from every ticket sold will go towards Malaria No More, a leading humanitarian organization determined to end malaria deaths in Africa by 2015.

To share the tour news, Daughtry posted a video on TwitVid.com right before the official announcement: “Oh, hey, didn’t see you there!” he starts. “… I know you’re been waiting on tour details — the first leg of the ‘Break the Spell Tour’ — details which I’m prepared to share with you this evening on ChrisDaughtry.com. Absolutely, folks! This evening we’ll be rolling out the details of the first leg of the ‘Break the Spell Tour!’ Who’s opening, where we’re heading… We can’t wait to share the news with you, we can’t to roll it out and we can’t wait to get back out on the road and see you guys and play these songs for you.”

Expect to hear new songs off “Break the Spell,” such as “Crawling Back To You” and “Renegade,” plus past hits on the jaunt. “We recorded a hard-hitting rock album that is primed to blow the doors off these great theaters,” Daughtry said. “Fans who come out are going to get an incredible show every night.”
