The guys of Collective Soul have posted a new song called “Right as Rain,” which the band recorded for their forthcoming live set, “Collective Soul — Live.” The jangle-y, upbeat, bouncy track is streaming now via the band’s YouTube page.

“Right as Rain” will be available as a digital exclusive on “Collective Soul — Live,” which is set to drop on Dec. 8. The album boasts various recordings from the group’s two years touring behind their latest studio album, 2015’s “See What You Started by Continuing.”

Collective Soul bass player Will Turpin recently spoke with Audio Ink Radio about how the music industry has changed since the band started out in the 1990s.

“You know, the stuff I listen to is still good rock music,” Turpin said. “I always look at everything from the big picture, and to me, rock ‘n’ roll is that huge sound and experience. I don’t really think it looks that different today. For me, we’re all creators and artists, and I see a lot of bands that I love out there today.”

Turpin also stated that the guys are working hard on new music. “When we get together, we still have songs that come right out, so it still feels good, as far as the creative,” he said, adding that the group is looking at an “early Spring 2018” release for the new set.
