Rock News: Red Hot Chili Peppers Finish Recording 10th Studio Album
The past few years have brought a lot of firsts for alternative rock band The Red Hot Chili Peppers, from bass player Flea studying music theory at USC, to singer Anthony Kiedis having a baby, to drummer Chad Smith recording and touring with Sammy Hagar’s Chickenfoot, to guitarist John Frusciante leaving the band in 2008 and Josh Klinghoffer taking his place.
But now, the guys are gearing up for what they collectively do best: make new albums with The Peppers.
“I think that during the writing of this record I have been the most open-minded and refreshed than I have been in a long time,” Kiedis told SPIN, adding the new album is now completed. “I guess that comes from a much-needed hiatus and becoming a father.”
While more album details (ie. track list, release date) have yet to surface, Kiedis told SPIN the working title is, Dr. Johnny Skinz’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head. Of course, since then, the band has already changed the name to, New Dynamic, reports the AOL Radio Blog. Whatever the moniker, the album will be the 10th studio album from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the band recorded it with longtime producer Rick Ruben. (Courtesy photo)
