Demon Hunter Celebrate Christmas Early With ‘The Wind’
Demon Hunter’s ‘The Wind’ gets metal fans in the holiday spirit
Demon Hunter usually make heavy, aggressive, aggro-hymns that sounds just right to the band’s hardcore Christian contingent as well as mainstream metallers. Now, the Seattle-based metal band have released a new Christmas song, “The Wind,” available on iTunes, Amazon MP3 other digital music stores. Stream the track using the video player, below.
Next year marks the decade milestone for Demon Hunter, and the guys recently renewed their contract with Solid State Records for a new album. Every single one of their albums and projects have dropped on Solid State, and they’ve sold nearly half a million albums around the world since 2002’s self-titled debut. Demon Hunter’s newest album, The World is a Thorn, debuted No. 39 on the Billboard 200 chart– the band’s highest showing yet.
Demon Hunter singer, songwriter and co-founder Ryan Clark says Solid State has always been an integral part of the Demon Hunter formula. “They helped market the band before we’d even started writing our first record and they continue to push the band further with each new album,” he said. “From the very beginning, Solid State has allowed Demon Hunter to do things our own unique way and they’ve become a vital part of the band’s existence. Re-signing was a no-brainer for us.”
The men of Demon Hunter head into the studio with longtime producer and collaborator Aaron Sprinkle in November to start working on Demon Hunter’s sixth studio album.
“We’ve always made an effort to stay true to our sound, but we like to push the boundaries of that blueprint with each release,” Clark said. “These new songs have a lot of varying influences: from viking metal to classic thrash; grooving 90’s rock to stompy hardcore. Our goal, as it is with each record, is to blend these influences into one cohesive but unique Demon Hunter album.”
