Maylene and the Sons of Disaster Release ‘Life on the Road: Volume 4’ Video

Maylene’s IV is packed with blues-based metal-core

Fans of blues-tinged heavy metal band Maylene and the Sons of Disaster are surely counting down to the release of the band’s album, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster: IV, out Sept. 27 on Ferret. All along the way, the gents have released a series of behind-the-scenes videos from the road, giving a peek inside the group’s wacky offstage antics. Watch the latest entry, here.

In the just over three minute video, the guys present funny footage from Jacksonville Beach Florida, where they sample baby food, hang out at the sandy beach and watch an overzealous girl spring down the road, steal a bike and almost get arrested. All in a good day’s work, right guys?

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster — counting Dallas Taylor (vocals), Chad Huff (guitar), Jake Duncan (guitar and vocals) and Brad Lehmann (bass) — are a heavy touring bunch, as they recently wrapped up a trek with Clutch and Protest the Hero. They’re taking a bit of time off the road, for now, before returning for a few CD release shows the end of the month.

IV was produced by Brian Virtue (Jane’s Addiction, Audioslave). Forefathers Group (In Flames, Children of Bodom) designed the cover art. Musically, the album carries Maylene’s characteristic blues-based musical bed, accented by Taylor’s fervent, scream-o vocals and a metal-core presentation.
