Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge Preps Angels & Airwaves Release

Story by Cat Badra

Angels & Airwaves release LOVE Part Two on Nov. 11

Tom DeLonge and the boys of Blink-182 are hot, with a new album out, Neighborhoods, and plenty of touring alongside My Chemical Romance. But amidst all the Blink hysteria, DeLonge hasn’t forgotten about his melodic pop rock baby: Angels & Airwaves.

Angels & Airwaves’ new record, LOVE Part Two (To the Stars Records), drops on Nov. 11. The release is the companion part to the free album that Angels gave fans last year, and the songs were also featured in LOVE, the film that DeLonge produced last year. The movie played in over 460 movie theaters across the nation, and fan reaction was ecstatic. Surely, the status of Angels & Airwaves — DeLonge, guitarist David Kennedy (Hazen Street and Box Car Racer) and bass player Matt Wachter (30 Seconds to Mars) — is strong.

LOVE Part Two will arrive in several packages, including an album; a standard version that packs both LOVE albums; a deluxe version with both LOVE albums as well as the 85-minute LOVE movie on DVD; a package that builds upon the deluxe version with a 128-page comic book or a limited-edition t-shirt; plus a rare package (only 25 available) that contains a signed, customized TD Epiphone guitar, very close to DeLonge’s famed Epiphone. With the set coming out in early November, this is a no-brainer Christmas gift for any Angels & Airwaves fan.
