Death Cab for Cutie Announce ‘Keys and Codes Remix EP’ [Listen]
Death Cab for Cutie gives ‘Codes and Keys’ a makeover
Alternative rock darlings Death Cab for Cutie will release a special remix of their popular Codes and Keys album, titled the Keys and Codes Remix EP, on Nov. 22. The collection presents seven new remixed tracks from Codes and Keys, which debuted No. 3 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year. Fans are no doubt stoked to check out the familiar tracks in a fresh, newly spun format. This is Death Cab as you’ve never heard them before.
Starting today (Oct. 11), the guys of Death Cab will unveil one remix each week running up to the EP’s release next month. The debut remix track — “Doors Unlocked and Open,” spun Australian electronic band Cut Copy – debuted early this morning on the indie outfit’s website. Listen to the kicking remix via the Soundcloud player, below.
Codes and Keys paints a brighter Death Cab picture, with articulate, pleasant, ambient indie pop songs about life and love. Musically, fans lapped up the band’s sparse guitar riffs, dreamy harmonies and retro arrangements. Now, with the Keys and Codes Remix EP, there’s another chance to hear the tracks in an entirely new light. Death Cab for Cute are currently on the road, playing a headlining tour. Expect to hear plenty of songs off Keys, such as the No. 1 alternative rock single “You Are a Tourist,” and other Death Cab favorites from their entire catalog. Find tour dates on the band’s official website.
