Former Nine Inch Nails, Lost Prophets Drummer Joins Angels and Airwaves
Blink-182’s Tom DeLonge readies Angels and Airwaves release
Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 is still at it with his beloved punk-pop group Angels and Airwaves, and DeLonge and the guys have just added a new musical heavyweight to their supergroup line-up: former Nine Inch Nails and Lostprophets drummer Ilan Rubin. Rubin, who has also released two solo albums as the New Regime, is in for Atom Willard on the skins.
Angels and Airwaves release the second half of their double album, LOVE, called LOVE Part Two, exclusively on iTunes for one week starting on Nov. 1. The physical version of LOVE Part Two reaches stores on Nov. 8. The physical copy will arrive in a variety of packages, to boot.
The guys will also run a special scavenger hunt to give fans a chance to get up-close with the band. At certain indie retailers, fans will search for a couple of autographed copies of the album blended in with the standard ones. As if that weren’t enough punk-pop fanfare, the 50 fans who find the autographed versions will be welcomed to participate in an hour long web chat with the band. Find more information on the hunt on the band’s official website.
Tom DeLonge is currently on the road with his longtime group, Blink-182. They released a new album, Neighborhoods, last month, and it’s the first album of all original material since 2003. Although DeLonge is still putting out music with Angels and Airwaves, he insists Blink-182 is first and forefront on his mind, and that the three-piece “has our power back” and are stronger than ever.
