Wilco, ‘Speak into the Rose’ – Black Friday Find
Wilco releases ‘Speak into the Rose’ vinyl on Black Friday
Even if you’ve never been one to venture out to the jam-packed stores on Black Friday, you may want to change that this year. That’s because National Record Store Day, which usually falls in April, is also extremely active on Black Friday (Nov. 25), offering dozens of albums exclusively available at your neighborhood brick and mortar record store. Chances are, stop by a local shop, and you’ll find something of interest from one of your favorite bands or artists.
Those who have waited around for new tracks from Wilco are in luck. National Record Store Day’s “Back to Black Friday” event is offering a special 10” LP from the roots-influenced, alternative rock band. The four-track vinyl, called Speak into the Rose, features two previously unreleased tracks from the Chicago group, which makes this a must-have for the loyal Wilco fan on your list. Moreover, the album art is a keeper, displaying a colorful and cheery cover with a red, rose-like splattering over bright shades of pink, yellow, green and blue.
The track listing includes “Art of Almost” (alternate version) and “I Might” (demo) on side one and “Speak into the Rose” and “Message from Mid-Bar” on side two. To find out which record shop near you is participating in National Record Store Day’s “Back to Black Friday” release, head over to the event’s official website. Note: Since not all participating stores carry all items, it’s a good idea to call your local shop ahead of time and make sure they carry the release you plan to pick up this season.
