Anberlin tap longtime producer Aaron Sprinkle to record next album

The young men of Christian alternative pop-punk band Anberlin have announced via Facebook that they will be returning to the studio later this month to record the follow-up to their 2010 album, “Dark is the Way Light is a Place.” As for now, the guys have 40 song ideas brewing. They’re also joining back up with producer Aaron Sprinkle for the album, who produced the band’s first three albums.

“First and foremost, we could not be more pumped to announce that we will be returning to a close friend and someone who has played a pivotal role in our story as a band,” the band stated on Facebook. “Aaron Sprinkle will be producing our new album. He produced our first 3 albums, and we could not be more thrilled to join forces again. We have 40+ song ideas, and this one is shaping up to be something special. We will begin work on the new album later this month. Stay close on many special ideas we have in store.”

Anberlin also updated fans about the numerous side projects of its members. Vocalist Stephen Christian has been hard at work on a new Anchor & Braille record, and that album should be out later this year. Guitarist Joey Mulligan has completed work on a side project called Sins. Drummer Nate Young has joined up with Underoath guitarist and brother-in-law Tim McTague on a new project called Carrollhood. Young also recently signed on to Ford Models, and his first modeling stint appears in V Man Magazine this month.
