Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder Adds More Solo Tour Dates
Pearl Jam frontman amps up tour dates to support ‘Ukulele Songs’
While Pearl Jam fans wait in great anticipation for a new album and possible U.S. tour from the grunge icons, frontman Eddie Vedder is getting on with his solo work. Vedder recently announced a string of North American club and theater dates in support of his current solo concoction, “Ukulele Songs,” and due to popular demand, Veddar has added second dates in several of the markers! Check out the full list of tour dates at the bottom of the story.
Pearl Jam played a handful of concerts in 2011 and landed at No. 68 on Pollstar’s list of the Top Grossing North American Tours of 2011. Fellow ’90s grunge rock mainstays Soundgarden and Foo Fighters also scored high on the list, which is available via this link. Two thousand twelve will hopefully bring more North American tour dates from Pearl Jam, as the Vedder, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Matt Cameron have already announced plans to record a new album and trek through Europe.
In other Pearl Jam news, Ament recently donated a pair of hand-painted, custom-made bass guitars to an auction to help raise funds for Seattle 826, a non-profit writing and tutoring center. Amnent’s two bass guitars, which he painted himself, were sold at auction for $8,501 each.
