Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots planning to release more Christmas tunes

It’s only September, but Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland is already thinking about Christmas. Of course, who can forget last year’s Christmas album from Weiland, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year?” Now, the grunge singer is working on a new Weiland Christmas song set to arrive later this year.

Weiland business partner and touring guitarist Doug Grean dropped the news regarding the festival new track on Saturday, Sept. 8, via Facebook, stating, “Working on a new Weiland Xmas song. It’s the record that just won’t quit!”

Weiland’s debut Christmas album, “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” hit stores and online outlets in October of 2011. At the time, Weiland told CNN that making a Christmas album was a novel experience for the singer. “It’s different than making a secular rock ‘n’ roll record or an art rock record, because these songs have to do with the holiday season and the idea of spirituality, and that is a very important thing,” he explained. Needless to say, switching from singing “Wicked Garden” to “White Christmas” couldn’t have been easy.

There’s no word yet on what Weiland plans to release for this 2012 Christmas track, but to stay up-to-date with Weiland news, visit the singer’s official website.
