AWOLNATION Announce New 2012 Tour Dates
Alternative act AWOLNATION will pack in a few shows before the end of the year
The year isn’t quite over yet, and AWOLNATION is going to make the most of it. The band just revealed a handful of new North American tour dates set for December in support of their current album, “Megalithic Symphony.” The tour kicks off on Dec. 1 at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom in Chicago and travel through Seattle, Las Vegas and Boston before wrapping up Dec. 13 at Baltimore, Md.’s Ram’s Head Live. In addition to the newly announced gigs, AWOLNATION will play KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas in Universal City, Calif., on Dec. 8. Check out all of the new dates below.
Aside from the concerts, AWOLNATION have announced they will appear on CBS’ “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Dec. 11 to perform their new single, “Kill Your Heroes,” off “Megalithic Symphony.” Needless to say, it’s going to be a busy end of the year for AWOLNATION.
AWOLNATION’s 2012 runaway hit is the alternative anthem “Sail,” and singer Aaron Bruno says the song was written during a period in his life when he was really struggling. “That was written at a time where I didn’t know what direction I wanted to go,” Bruno told Toronto.com. “I was sitting at the studio trying to make these little pop songs for aspiring pop artists for chump change, [with] barely enough money to buy a bean and cheese burrito.”

12/6 — Las Vegas, Nev., The Joint/Hard Rock
