Joe Hahn of Linkin Park will premiere his new movie, ‘Mall,’ July 24 at Comic-Con in San Diego

Joe Hahn of Linkin Park has put his directing efforts towards a film called “Mall,” which is set to be released this fall. San Diego-area fans don’t have to wait much longer to check out the film, though, as the movie will see a special advance screening next week at The Nerd Machine’s fifth annual Nerd HQ event at Comic-Con in San Diego.

In addition to the screening, Hahn will also participate in a “Conversations for a Cause” question and answer panel that will also include producer Sam Maydew, composer Alec Puro and select “Mall” cast members.

“Mall” centers on the Eric Bogosian book by the same title and looks at a group of people who just survived a mall shooting. Vincent D’Onofrio, Gina Gershon and Cameron Monaghan star in the film.

Hahn isn’t a newbie to directing. He has directed more than two dozen Linkin Park music videos, including the band’s latest video for the new single, “Until It’s Gone.”

The “Mall” showing will take place Thursday (July 24) at Petco Park. For more information on the screening, visit The Nerd Machine website or the “Mall” Facebook page.

In other news, Linkin Park’s new album, “The Hunting Party,” arrived in June and entered the Billboard 200 album chart at No. 3. The band will embark on a summer tour with 30 Seconds to Mars and AFI starting in early August.
