No Doubt Are All About Playing Festivals in 2015
No Doubt hitting the festival circuit this summer
No Doubt are back this year on the festival circuit. The Gwen Stefani-fronted alternative rock band headlined Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day in Washington, D.C., last weekend, and this summer, the gang will perform at New Orleans JazzFest, Rock in Rio USA and the BottleRock Festival. It’s the most the band has played out since their 2013 tour.
“This year is about playing festivals and then we’ll see where that takes us,” drummer Adrian Young told Billboard of the band’s summer tour dates. “There was some experimenting going on, but (frontwoman) Gwen (Stefani is) gonna do another solo record and we’re gonna continue to play some more live shows and see what happens from there.”
While the band is touring more this year, No Doubt aren’t necessarily looking at doing a new album. The band’s last studio release, “Push and Shove,” arrived in 2012. When asked how long it will take for the group to release another album, Young said, “it’s hard to say.”
“We don’t have any immediate plans for new music,” Young said.
The members of No Doubt bring their kids on the road with them on tour. That means 10 children are regularly with the band.
“It’s almost like we’re siblings and they’re cousins,” guitarist Tom Dumont said. “They all play together. They all have their own relationships and dynamics together.”
