Bullet for My Valentine Prep New Album, ‘Venom’
Welsh metal band Bullet for My Valentine will release ‘Venom’ in August
Welsh metal band Bullet for My Valentine will release their fifth studio album, “Venom,” on Aug. 14, and the album’s first single is getting some early traction. The lyric video for the single, “No Way Out,”, has already surpassed 1 million views since it was posted on May 17.
“Venom,” Bullet for My Valentine says, is the band’s heaviest record to date. Carl Bown and Colin Richardson – who have worked with Trivium, Machine Head and more heavy-hitters – produced the set at Metropolis Studio in London. The band is currently releasing studio diaries on Vevo to let fans in on the recording process.
“It’s pretty hard to sum up an entire record after spending so much time writing and recording it and all the blood, sweat and tears that have come with this one especially,” frontman Matt Tuck said in a statement. “It wasn’t easy revisiting some very dark places to come up with lyrical content for this one, but once I knew where it was heading and I was comfortable with letting certain things out – all hell broke loose. It’s easily the most aggressive record we’ve ever done and lyrically it will no doubt touch a nerve with a lot of people that listen to it.”
He added, “I cannot express enough how proud I am of it, and can’t wait for everyone out there to hear it too. We’ve reinvented who we are and are ready to take on the world once more.”
Bullet for my Valentine have a new bass player in toe, too. Welsh musician Jamie Mathias will be holding down the low end, along with longtime members by vocalist and guitarist Matt Tuck, guitarist Michael “Padge” Paget and drummer Michael “Moose” Thomas.
While the band hasn’t announced North American tour dates yet, there’s a good chance they’re tour the states to promote “Venom.” Find current tour dates via the band’s official website.
