Andy Biersack from Black Veil Brides has been tapped to host the 2017 Alternative Press Music Awards

It’s official: Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack will host the 2017 edition of the Alternative Press Music Awards. Previous hosts include All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat. The annual alternative music celebration will take place July 17 in Cleveland, Ohio.

“I am so honored to be hosting this year’s fourth annual APMAs,” Biersack said in a statement. “I’ve attended every APMAs, and I’ve been fortunate to have a favorite moment every year. “As host, I want to make people feel happy and create favorite moments for them, too. I want them to be stoked, whether they are attending the event or watching it from their homes.”

“Andy is one of the most dynamic and engaging musicians I think I’ve ever met,” Alternative Press CEO Mike Shea added. “Besides being an amazing frontman on the rock stage, he’s also one of the funniest off-stage. Over the past year, he’s been bringing his comedic side to fans while touring with his Andy Black project, and when we heard that he was interested in hosting the APMAs, we thought that there could be some real magic here in the making…”

In other news, Biersack and Black Veil Brides are in the process of working on their upcoming, fifth studio album, which already boasts the single “The Outsider.” In addition to his work with Black Veil Brides, last year, Biersack unleashed his debut album under his Andy Black solo name, called “The Shadow Side.”
