Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins will release his third solo album, “Cotillions,” on Nov. 22

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan has a new solo album on the way– and soon. The album, which he recorded under his birth name, William Patrick Corgan, will called “Cotillions” and will hit stores Nov. 22.

“Cotillions” is a bit of a divergence from Corgan’s previous solo work, in that it’s less alternative rock and more, according to Corgan, “Americana.” The album features a bevy of Nashville session musicians, as well as guest appearances from longtime Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder and touring member Katie Cole.

“Cotillions” marks Corgan’s third solo album and follow-up to 2017’s “Ogilala.” Corgan will hit the road in support of “Ogilala” beginning with a Nov. 4 date in Los Angeles.

Most recently, Corgan reunited with orginal Smashing Pumpkins members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin and recorded a new Pumpkins album, “Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun.” That marked the original members’ first album together in nearly two decades.
