Mammoth WVH Go Guitar-Heavy on ‘Take a Bow’
Wolfgang Van Halen recorded “Take a Bow” using his father Eddie Van Halen’s original Frankenstein guitar
Mammoth WVH are gearing up to release their sophomore album, “Mammoth II,” on Aug. 4 via BMG. One of the singles off the set, the hard-charging “Another Celebration at the End of the World,” is already inside the top 10 at active rock radio, so the buzz is strong. Now, the Wolfgang Van Halen-fronted band has released another new song off the record, “Take a Bow.”
Mammoth WVH’s latest song, “Take a Bow,” comes coupled with a fiery lyric video. Moreover, what makes this cut extra special is that Wolfgang recorded the song’s guitars on the original Frankenstein guitar, using the original amps of his father, the late, great Eddie Van Halen. The song features an Eddie Van Halen-worthy guitar solo, too. What’s more, “Take a Bow” marks the longest song on the set, clocking in at nearly 7 minutes. Listen to the song and watch the lyric video via YouTube below.
“It was the last song we finished,” Wolfgang said of the new track in a statement. “It’s officially the longest song I’ve released to date, and I feel the guitar solo is really special. I played the solo on the original Frankenstein guitar and through dad’s original Marshall head and one of the original cabinets. It’s straight up what he used on the earliest Van Halen records. It makes me happy to capture some of dad’s history on this song forever.”
In addition to “Take a Bow” and “Another Celebration at the End of the World,” Mammoth WVH has released the single “Like a Pastime” off “Mammoth II.” In support of the new set, Mammoth WVH is already touring the globe, as they’re currently in Europe. They’ll also hit the road on a U.S. tour with Alter Bridge and Sevendust later this summer.
Anyone that pre-orders the album digitally will receive “Take a Bow” as an instant download. Pre-order the new album, “Mammoth II,” in multiple configurations here. Find Mammoth WVH’s upcoming tour dates with Alter Bridge and Sevendust here.
