Kittie Vocalist Morgan Lander Gets Married
Those who metal together stay together, and in that spirit, vocalist Morgan Lander of heavy metal band Kittie has officially tied the knot. Morgan took to her Facebook page on November 25 to post that she’s married and included a photo of her with her husband starting deeply into his eyes.
The social media post garnered some nice responses from fans, mainly with people saying “congratulations” with emoji hearts and some comments on enjoying Kittie shows. “We missed you at the Atlanta show, hope y’all tour again soon and come to Tampa,” one fan wrote. “So happy for you you all. Congratulations and mucho happy days ahead of you,” another said.
Lander has posted about her husband before on Instagram. On October 24, Lander posted a photo with her now husband, Benjamin Bridge, on Instagram, kissing him on the beach. “Put a ring on it bro. She’s a keeper,” one fan wrote. “Lucky man,” another stated.
We here at Audio Ink Radio wish Lander and her husband a lifetime of happiness together.
Morgan Lander Talks New Music and More
Lander spoke with Audio Ink Radio in 2023 about the resurgence of Kittie, since the heavy metal band has been releasing new music and touring for the first time in years. When asked about the Pantera reunion, which has been a big topic in the metal music world, Lander said, “When I heard about it, I wasn’t mad about it. I feel like it is weird, because I feel like the heart and soul of that band were the Abbott brother, and everything about their playing. Not like I could ever compare myself to any of them, but I understand what it’s like to have a sibling in a band, and you play together for so long that you connect on a differed level.”
She added, “When they played, they had a certain swagger and connected on a certain level together, and that’s just something that comes with time and practice and all those things, but also that bond of being siblings. I know they were very close, obviously.”
Kittie returned with their first new music in 13 years in February 2024. Speaking with Audio Ink Radio before the news broke, Lander hinted as new music, stating, “It’s definitely something that’s on our to-do list. It’s something we’ve been really interested in. It’s definitely something we want to do when the timing is right, when the situation is right, and it’s all starting to come together and feel more right. I guess it’s the perfect time.”
Kittie have a long history of being one of the best metal bands out of the early-2000s. Rolling Stone named their song “Spit,” the title track off their 2000 debut album, one of the 100 best metal songs of all time in a March 2023 feature. “Their debut album, Spit, was an endearingly rough-edged blend of thrash, grunge, death metal, alt-rock, and pure adolescent rage,” Rolling Stone stated.
At the time of its release, “Spit,” peaked at No. 79 on the Billboard 200 chart. Reviews have been great over the years, with one writer at Album of the Year calling the album, “This is one of the best all-female metal albums to ever exist. It’s vicious and pummeling for it’s entirety and the production is absolutely insane.”
