Band to play ‘Dosage’ in its entirety on upcoming trek

Collective Soul have announced a massive U.S. tour, and this isn’t your everyday Collective Soul gig. For the first time, the ‘90s-originated band will perform their 1999 platinum album, “Dosage,” in its entirety. “Dosage” is the group’s fourth album and features such chart-toppers as “Heavy,” “Run” and “Tremble for My Beloved.”

The tour, billed “An Evening with Collective Soul,” will also find the band playing other songs from a catalog that includes seven No. 1 radio hits, from “Shine” to “The World I Know” to “Where the River Flows.” The group will also premiere some never-heard-before songs that the gents have been working on for their forthcoming studio album, which they hope to release sometime soon.

Speaking with Audio Ink Radio last year, bass player Will Turpin hinted at a new album on the horizon. “Can’t really say for sure, but there are definitely discussions going on about scheduling that, and songs have been played and started, so we’ve already started some creativity,” he said, when asked about an upcoming disc. “But, nothing is really scheduled yet. I would think that the next six months, we’ll get something going on.”

As for the tour, singer Ed Roland says the guys are stoked to get back out on the road. “This is our first tour in over two years and we are very excited to reconnect with our fans and introduce some new tracks we have been working on along with a unique experience of seeing ‘Dosage’ start to finish,” he said. For more information on the forthcoming trek, including ticket details, head to the band’s official site. More dates are expected to drop before too long, too.
