Mark Lanegan says he’s not interested in reuniting with Screaming Trees

Mark Lanegan first came on the music scene in the ‘80s and ‘90s as the frontman of Seattle grunge rock outfit Screaming Trees. These days, Lanegan is busy with his solo project and recently released a new album called “Blues Funeral” under the moniker, the Mark Lanegan Band. That said, the musician says he doesn’t see any chance of Screaming Trees reuniting in the near future, if ever.

“There have been offers, but it’s not something I’m interested in at all,” Lanegan told the Jerusalem Post. “I’m not against the idea of reunions in general, I’m really glad the [Afghan Whigs] did it – I saw a show and it was one of the best I’ve ever seen, by anybody.

“I think it’s great if people want to do it, and it’s their right, but I won’t do it. I will play with some of those guys – and I have – but getting together as Screaming Trees is something I’m not interested in … and I don’t think the others are either.”

Lanegan added that he’s not the biggest fan of doing interviews, but that it’s part of the gig. “I find that talking about yourself over and over again answering the same questions just isn’t very interesting,” he said. “I’m just a person, and some days I’m in a better mood than others, that’s all.”
